Now we are calling for 2 online internship programs and Teaching Assistant(TA) to support SOI Asia and AI³project. :

#1 Field: AI³_ SARENA-PAC (Satellite and Aero Research and Educational Network for ASIA-PACIFIC)

• Topic
  • A: IoT with machine learning
  • B: Network-based IDS with machine learning 
• Number of Interns: 4 (2 people for each topic)
• Duration: June – August 2022  (min 3 months)
  • The length of the period can be adjusted based on the applicants’ situation and the project’s requirements. At least a minimum of 3 months should be committed.
• Expected working hours per week: min 12 hours (will be adjusted based on applicants’ situation)
• Required Qualifications:
  • A. Following skills and knowledge are required:
    • Knowledge in IoT and machine learning
    • TensorFlow/Keras programming
    • Android/Linux programming
  • B. Following skills and knowledge are required:
    • Knowledge in Intrusion Detection Systems and machine learning
    • TensorFlow/Keras programming
    • Golang/Rust/Python programming for implementing IDS
• Language Requirements : English: Business Level

#2 Field: SOI Asia_Portfolio System

• Topic: Portfolio System
• Number of Interns: 2
• Duration: June – August 2022  (min 3 months)The length of the period can be adjusted based on the applicants’ situation and the project’s requirements. At least a minimum of 3 months should be committed.
• Expected working hours per week: min 12 hours (will be adjusted based on applicants’ situation)
• Required Qualifications:
  • Experience of system development
  • Familiarity of federated authentication
  • Experience of web Programming in python and/or javascript
  • Experience of server setup and maintenance
  • Interest and passion in IT/ICT and education.
• Language Requirements : English: Business Level
• Application deadline: May 12, 2022

#3 Field: TA for Asia Pacific Internet Engineering (APIE) Program

• Topic: APIE Program Teaching Assistant
• Number of Interns: 4
• Duration: May – October 2022 (6 months) The length of the period can be adjusted based on the applicants’ situation and the project’s requirements. At least a minimum of 6 months should be committed.
• Expected working hours per week: 6~8 hours (will be adjusted based on applicants’ situation)
  • Participating APIE E-WORKSHPs are required
    • *On Saturday afternoon(4PM JST) every two weeks
  • Participating AI3/SOI Asia Monthly Seminar ( 25 May, 29 June, 27 July, 31 August)
• Required Qualifications:
  • A: Following skills are required:
    • Interest and passion in IT/ICT and education.
    • Business level English skill.
      • Web page development using CMS(WordPress)
      • SNS (Twitter/Facebook)
      • Email/slack communication
    • B: Following skills and experiences are welcome:
      • Basic knowledge and experiences on Linux and the Internet.
        • Undergraduate degree in CS or currently majoring
        • Currently studying at graduate courses in the CS area.
        • CCNA or other certificates related to the Internet technology or CS.
        • Operation experience as network engineer in company or university.
      • Teaching assistant experience in computer science related classes in university.
      • Facilitating skills and experience for discussion in class.
      • Design or Movie editing skills for SNS contents development.
• Language Requirements : English: Business Level

• Required Qualifications:
  • A. Following skills are required:
    • Experience in Linux system administration
    • Experience in container administration
    • Experience in development using Python
    • Familiarity of Machine learning programming
  • B. Following skills are required:
    • Experience in Linux system administration
    • Experience in IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocols
    • Experience in development using Python
• Language Requirements : English: Business Level

SOI Asia Internship

  • At least a minimum 3 months should be committed.
• Required Qualifications:
  • A. Following skills are required:
    • Some level of familiarity of Learning design
    • Experience of designing visual communication materials
    • Knowledge about data science and data visualization will be appreciated
  • B. Following skills are required:
    • Experience of system development
    • Familiarity of federated authentication
    • Experience of web Programming in python and/or javascript
    • Experience of server setup and maintenance
