Faculty members and students from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Telkom University (Tel-U), and Keio University convened for a CBR kick-off meeting at the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) at ITB on September 3, 2026. In this first in-person meeting, team members shared their progress and discussed plans for research on 5G networks, Open RAN, and AI.
ITB and Tel-U presented updates and a demonstration of a 5G network testbed developed at ITB, which will be used for experiments by the CBR team. Afterwards, Keio and UB shared their research progress and experiment plans. The discussions following these updates focused on action items for each member and the possible schedule for experiments.
Prof. Keiko Okawa joined the meeting to see the network testbed and made a courtesy call on Dr. Arwindra Rizqiawan, Vice Dean of Resources at STEI ITB, accompanied by key members of the CBR 5G team. During the discussions, STEI ITB explained its initiatives in 5G research.
This CBR meeting marked another step in strengthening collaboration among the participating institutions and advancing joint research on emerging network technologies.
