Reflections and Future Visions: APIE Batch 4 Wraps Up with Expert Insights

On June 29, the APIE Program Batch 4 concluded its activities with the final e-Workshop featuring guest lecturer Katsuhiro Horiba (Softbank, Japan). This last session encouraged participants to learn and reflect on the current status of mobile networks and anticipate future developments.

Learners in this batch had the opportunity to hear from guest speakers on various topics:

– “Contributions to the Internet community from students’ perspective,” by Momoka Yamamoto (The University of Tokyo) and Yoshiki Uchida (Keio University)

– “Internet governance in Vietnam,” by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (VNNIC)

– “Internet governance at regional and global levels,” by Joyce Chen (APNIC)

– “The now and then of mobile networks,” by Horiba (SoftBank)

From this batch, selected students will advance to the second stage of the APIE Program: a five-day camp held simultaneously (for the first time) at Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) in Makassar, Indonesia, and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang, Malaysia. The list of participants is expected to be announced next week.

Congratulations to all learners who completed the course, and a huge thanks to all those who contributed to making this batch 4 another success!
