SOI Pacific visited Fiji from June 29 to July 3, 2026, together with the ARENA-PAC team, to strengthen relationships with regional universities and key stakeholders while exploring opportunities for future collaboration across the Pacific.

During the visit, the team met with representatives from the University of the South Pacific (USP), Fiji National University (FNU), the Embassy of Japan in Fiji, and other organizations to exchange perspectives on research, education, digital connectivity, and long-term institutional collaboration.

SOI Pacific is a joint initiative between Keio University and the University of Hawaiʻi, established to strengthen research and education networks and contribute to a more connected and resilient Pacific. As a sister initiative of SOI Asia, the project shares a commitment to collaborative learning, regional partnerships, and sustainable capacity development while focusing on the unique needs and priorities of Pacific Island communities.
