Details of Protocol - From Click to Website Display (3 hours) << Click Here

by Akihiro Shirahashi

Net One Systems

An extensive knowledge in Internet Technology is necessary from layer 2 (hub and switch) to layer 7. Many of those who first start setting up the network equipments such as router and switch are not skilled in the application area. On the other hand, people who have started out to set up servers, do not often understand the protocols or how they work together.
The course aims to fill such gaps in knowledge by deepening the understanding of the mechanism of the Internet. By using examples of the actual process of communication, that is from ARP, PPP to HTTP, the course will explain how protocols work when one accesses websites on the Internet and exchange mail.
Target - For those who desire to gain a concrete idea of the mechanisms of the Internet. Those who have fragmentary knowledge of each protocol, but do not quite understand the mechanism as a whole. Those who find that they are somewhat puzzled from layer 4. For those with the knowledge and understanding of the "Basics of the Internet" in the beginners tutorial. Those who are familiar with the basics of TCP/IP (ex. IP address, port number) the mechanisms of the web and DNS/mail.

Routing Control for Large-scale Networks (3 hours) << Click Here
[ Dubbing into English ]

by Tomochika Takeshi, Maemura Akinori

In the design of backbone network in ISP, it is important on stable working to design not only arrangement of circuit and router but also routing control combining BGP and IGP. With explosive development of Internet, ISP backbone also makes a rapid progress. So, routing control design considered scalability is necessary in ISP. This lecture covers technical matters of each routing protocol and points when you construct ISP backbone network, and offers methods to solve several issues like scalability problem.
Target - People who have technological knowledge of TCP/IP. People who are involved in the design, structure, and operation of a massive network in ISP, corporations and so on.
