1. Introduction

Universitas Syiah Kulal has been established in 1961 which was the first University in Aceh. It was started with four faculties: Economy , Agriculture, Teacher Training. Now our university is running with 9 faculties, 37 Departments, 20,000 students and 1,200 lectures.

Media Learning Center (MLC)

It was established on March 2005 under Unsyiah Computer and Information Center (PUKSI). The Objective of MLC is to find ways to leverage ICT to overcome lecturer shortage due to 26 December 2004 Tsunami. After the 1 st Tsunami Lecture, MLC was invited to join SOI-Asia.

3. Classroom environment

One of the AI3 partners and it has a stable 1.5Mbps Internet infrastructure using AI3 network. Sending video and audio using WMT (500kbps) from Japan. 30seconds to 1 minute delay because of encoding and decoding. Some PCs are set up for each student to view the lecture. Using BBS for question and answer session. The following applications are used to receive the lecture tranmistted from SOI Asia:
