1. Introduction
|
University of Computer Studies, Yangon has its origin in the former institute of Computer Science and Technology (ICST) which was established in March 1988. But its history goes back to 1971 when it was founded as (UCC), the universities’ Computer Centre. In 1997, September 18, the University of Computer Studies, Manadaly was established.Bechelor degrees were started and were offered in 1973. In 2001 May, the Ph.D program was started. In 2004, Myanmar Government has set up 24 Government Computer Collages to train the IT professionals in state and division. In 2006,Myanmar Government has extended the all computer collages to Universites in each state and division. The University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY) and the University of Computer Studies, Mandalay (UCSM) and 24 Universities of Computer Studies in other states and divisions are of the higher institutions under the Ministry of Science and Technology. |

2. Network situation

UCSY is a receive only station, uni-directional satellite antenna and satellite receiver are used to receive the satellite signals. For Internet Connectivity, UCSY is directly connected to local ISP dedicated to this project. SOI Asia Setup For UCSY |

3. Classroom environment
In UCSY, we reserve a room all through the year to be used as SOI Asia lecturer studio. We put a rack to accomodate network and audio/video equipments. This studio works for both receving lectures and classroom environment for realtime class. We use the follow applications to receive the lectures and to connect to server side.
