Q1. Should the extension have to be newly made for this competition?

It can be something you made in the past.
Since one of the purpose to conduct this competition is to encourage the new developers,
we will ask you to write when you've made the extension,
and evaluate in different sections; newly made ones, existing extensions.
We hope you will understand this evaluation process.

Q2. What are the locales that should be included in the add-ons?

Please at least include English.

Q3. Can the Add-on be only in Japanese?

[Answer]
The add-on can be in Japanese, but please try to make the presentation material about the add-on in English.
If you have trouble making the material in English, please consult with the staff.

Q4. Can the cultural video only in Japanese?

[Answer]
The video can be in local language with English captions.
The video can be altered with pictures and presentations introducing your cultures.
If it is too difficult to do the cultural presentation, you can skip it,
but please remember that the cultural introduction is one of the criteria for evaluation.

Q5. Are there any restriction in the licensing of add-ons?

[Answer]
Please use open license like MPLӢGPLӢLGPLӢMITӢor revised BSD.

Q6. What are the evaluation criteria?

We will evaluate made-for-this-competition add-on and already made add-on in different track.
We will evaluate 1) uniqueness, 2) percentage of completion, 3) internationalization(function, local), 4) file size, etc.
Q7. Will there be registration page in Japanese?

Yes.

Q8. Is there any restriction for add-on operating environment?

[Answer]
Please make the add-on to be interoperate with Firefox ver.2.0 or more (3.0 is also OK)

Q9. Can the add-on have dependencies to other add-ons?

[Answer]
The add-on can have dependencies if there are explanation when submitting the add-on.

Q10. Can the add-on have dependency to specific OSs?

[Answer]
If there are explanations for dependencies in the OSs, and judges can
operate in the submitter specified environment, then it is OK.
Q11. What is the environment used in the evaluation?

[Answer]
We will evaluate with submitter specified environment.

Q12. I cannot come to present my add-on on Sep 15th. What should I do with the presentation?

[Answer]
Staff can do the presentation in stead of you if you cannot come to the venue.
Please consult with the staff.

What should be the format of the presentations?

[Answer]
If it is a presentation, please use ppt, odp or pdf format.
If it is a video file, please use avi, flash, wmv, mov, mpg, 3gp, or 3g2.
You can also use presentation tools that works on Firefox.
You can also upload the video file to youtube and specify the URL in the registration form
