1. Purpose
SOI Asia is glad to host the 8th Business and Gestation Plan Contest ( previous know as Business Plan Contest) on coming 13 January 2016, to cultivate the environment for the potential entrepreneurs in the region and to prepare for efficient fund matching opportunity with research asset originated from universities. This contest is hosted by SOI Asia Business Platform LLP that engages in entrepreneur assistance, and supported by Universities in SOI Asia network. We wish to promote the entrepreneur development by the students, faculty members, researchers and graduates from the SOI Asia partner institutions through this contest.

2. Target Participants
– CEO must be student from SOI Asia Universities
– Members can be exisitng student/ alumni/ lecturer
* With interest to learn how to make plan and take actions from idea into minimum prototype that can be validated by end user in next 12 months as part of gestation outcome

The workshop will be interactive to explain about the rules and basic template of writing business plan.
In addition, the winning teamand 1st runner for business plan contest 2014 will share their actual experience and challenges of creating business plan and taking gestation as university student and student entrepreneur.

5. Evaluation Criteria
Evaluation is done based on 4 components :
i) Entrepreneur
ii) Business Model
iii) Finance
iv) Venture Gestation
Prominent specialists as judges from many fields: e.g. IT technology, Management, Intellectual Property, Financial Sector, Accountant and University faculty members will be invited as contest judges.
6. Evaluation Process & Result
Announcement of finalist teams :
Final Presentation (for finalist only)
The finalist teams will make a 12-15 min powerpoint presentation (including any video presentation or demonstration)
Followed by a Q&A session

7. Contest Incentive
i) Certificate Recognition as the “SOI Asia Best Business Plan 2015/16”
ii) Venture Gestation Support Program (online and onsite) for 9-12 months*
– A onsite 3 day- 2 nigh gestation worshop in home country of winner (Feb or Mar 2016)
– Minimum quarterly online gestation consultation through SOI Asia system
* Subjected to the gestation conditions
iii) Overseas Guest Speaker Presentation Opportunity
– As an educational case based on student based venture gestation (based on 12-month gestation)
– Airticket and accomodation to be covered for **two nomimated representatives” from winning team
*Above coDuration is subjected to change based on the business plan
** The participating team should have 3- 5 members

The documents and presentations should be in English.
